A little about myself
I’m Kristen, an ER nurse on the front line of this growing Coronavirus pandemic. I’m constantly exposed to patients who are potentially infected with COVID. I’m a mother of 2 children, my youngest is 10 months and in fear for exposing her and my family to this illness.
Why do I need PPE?
While on the front line of this pandemic, I’m constantly exposed to patients who are concerned for their health due to fever, cough, shortness of breath, etc. Coronavirus (COVID-19) is an illness that we are learning about daily, presentation of symptoms is different. As this pandemic worsens, healthcare workers are faced with a shortage of PPE. I’m one of the many worried about potential exposure to COVID-19. Our facility doesn’t have N95 masks and are limited to 1 surgical mask for use per day. These masks are disposable and not recommended to repeated use but due to the shortage we have no choice.
